Imperfect Mom and Housekeeper :)

Every now and again I think it is important for me to share the "real" mommy inside :) I really am imperfect in "mommy-ing" my children, but the cool thing is that I am coming to understand that there is no expectation that I should be holding myself to, because there is no such thing as the perfect mom! Yay! What a load off. I just have to share some of my imperfectness.

*My girls do not get baths every day or every other day. In fact, we're lucky if it is twice a week. I aim for that but a lot of the time it ends up being once a week.

*Lily's teeth only get brushed once a day.

*Lily's hands get washed once a day (that's steady) and we're working on twice at this point.

(While I'm at it, I think I'll just air out the dirty laundry of my domestic life as a "housekeeper" as well!)

*Lately, I haven't been folding my clothes right after they come out of the dryer. They have somehow found a nice, cozy home under the ironing board in our room until I get the where-with-all to fold them and put them away.

*Until about 30 min. ago, my clean dishes had been sitting in my dishwasher for about 3 days, so my dirty dishes had been sitting in my sink for about 3 days.

*I tend to over-buy on fresh vegetables, and I end up having to throw some away at the end of my "shopping cycle." It makes me sick to see waste. I think I need to find the art of freezing....

*Sadie sometimes wears the same one-piece outfit for several days in a row if it hasn't got pooped on, spit-up on, or peed on.

*I washed my bra about two weeks ago. I don't remember the last time I washed it before that.

Aaaahhhhhhh, I feel better now that the cyberworld knows about all my little housewife blunders.....maybe I'll sleep better tonight :)

I'll just let you know that my kids get a bath twice a week if it's a good week, Jack can have the same outfit on for days if we aren't going anywhere or it isn't dirty, hand washing? ummmm..., vegetables - I have to buy frozen or I wind up having to throw them out, laundry can sit overnight in the washer, and it's hard to wash my favorite bra because I'm always wearing it. I feel better too :) We're all in this together my friend!

So, my kids haven't been bathed since...umm...Tuesday? Before that? Not sure. Next one? Same story. Jerome has given up and started folding the laundry because, in my world, the laundry should magically take itself out of the laundry basket, fold itself, and put itself up. I don't really brush Madi's teeth on a regular basis, because why waste a good pass-out session on something as trivial as dental hygiene? Anyways, you are certainly not alone, sister. And know that this post had me rolling!

Yeah! Preach it sister! We should write a book called, "Imperfect Mommies - the truth in motherhood". Some weeks Grace and Toby will not have a bath until the weekend. And believe me Toby needs it. Right at this very moment I have six loads of laundry that are sitting in a huge mound in my living room. Waiting for the laundry fairies to do their job. My kitchen has had dishes piling up for the past week. My poor husband has to find his socks and underwear by digging them out of my mountain of laundry. Maybe next week I'll be "perfect" but this week I'm giving it a rest. :) LOVE YOU!

LOL! Been there! For the past 8 days, we've had laundry piled downstairs and we go dig-out what we need; dishes? we've lived out of restaurants. And vegetables? ARe those the things in V8 juice?

Mommy-hood is so much fun - you will never do something that one of us hasn't done - or at least wish we had!
