On Saturday, the girls and I got home from a 4.5 week trip to Colorado. We started our time off with five days visiting my aunt in Denver and then went to my hometown of Durango, for the remaining 3.5 weeks.
The part that I enjoyed most was getting caught up with amazing family and friends. Highlights of the trip:
*Spending lots of days with my friend Nicole and her wonderful kids-her and Jason are such a HUGE support to me and my family!
*Getting to have multiple dinner dates with friends/supporters whom I haven't seen in over a year.
*Spending time with my niece and nephew who have grown up so incredibly much. My niece Heather is so amazing with my girls and loves to play with them. David is maturing and growing so much in his own walk with the Lord, and that is so encouraging and delightful.
*Spending half a day with my wonderful friend Jill, letting our kids run around and make a general mess of things while we got caught up on several years of life living in different cities.
*Easter Sunday, when the family we were staying with made Lily and Sadie their own Easter baskets complete with candy AND coloring books AND new movies (for our trip home of course!). We even managed to pull off an Easter egg hunt amidst the slew of rain we had that day.
*Spending half a day with an incredible friend/mentor, Tawna, who spoiled me and my girls and even watched them while I got my hair cut!
*Hanging out with my mom, getting pedicures, eating lunch, watching a movie, and laughing. She is amazing and supportive and was just there for me through so many of my difficult days being away from Benjie.
*Lots of great talks and times with the Swartzmans, who graciously opened up their home for me and the girls to stay for close to four weeks--that takes some special people :)
Needless to say, I am an 8 1/2 month pregnant woman with two small children, and it is WONDERFUL to be back in my own home with my own routine with my girls and having rulership over my own domain again!
Now the only thing that will make my life complete will be having my husband back by my side again!
